Alexandra Rose Charity Case Study
Raised awareness for the London charity’s Fruit and Veg on Prescription project.

  • The Brief

    In collaboration with the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Lambeth, the Alexandra Rose Charity introduced the Fruit & Veg on the Prescription program. This community service provides free fruit and vegetable vouchers to promote healthy eating habits. Our PR goals were to create compelling and precise media coverage that targets the charity's primary audiences.

    What We Did

    We collaborated with the charity's Chief Executive and the rest of the senior team to devise a nationwide PR plan to promote the Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project in London. Our strategy was implemented across multiple media channels, resulting in regional, national and international coverage.

    Outcome

    The project gained substantial coverage in various trade publications through online, broadcast, and print press, locally and nationally. As a result, the charity's Chief Executive was invited to speak on three well-known podcasts, and the project was featured by the esteemed TV show Have I Got News For You.

    The charity and its partners found our PR efforts highly successful and surpassed their expectations. With our assistance, Alexandra Rose Charity had increased awareness of their organisation and its initiatives.

Arcus Case Study
Supported a fast-growing multi-disciplinary environmental and planning consultancy with our PR consultancy.

  • The Brief

    Our PR services were commissioned to assist a rapidly expanding multi-disciplinary environmental and planning consultancy as it looked to broaden its reach in the UK and South Africa. Arcus sought to enhance its visibility, distinguish itself from competitors, and improve employee recruitment and retention.

    What We Did

    Collaborating closely with Arcus's senior team, we developed a set of key messages that were then distributed throughout the company, and we launched subsequent PR campaigns across various regional, national, and trade levels.

    Our team also identified and drafted award submissions within the industry while establishing strong partnerships with key stakeholders.

    Outcome

    Thanks to our PR campaign, Arcus now enjoys regular coverage in national and trade media and has seen an increase in job applications, reaching a record high. Arcus was also shortlisted for the Landscape Institute Awards, received a Highly Commended in the Planning Awards 2021, and was shortlisted for an EDIE award. It is now considered a significant player in the UK and South African renewables industry, thanks partly to its consistent and robust PR campaign.

Barnsley Museums - Slazenger Case Study
Secured national media coverage for Barnsley Museums’ Slazenger exhibition.

  • The Brief

    Barnsley Museums sought to generate media coverage for their exhibition at Experience Barnsley, which celebrated the cultural memory and history of the town's old Slazenger factory. The museum aimed to create a tennis-themed publicity stunt that would coincide with the start of the 2022 Wimbledon tournament and generate national media interest.

    What We Did

    Our team collaborated closely with Barnsley Museums' marketing team and exhibition curators to generate interest from national media outlets before the exhibition's opening. We curated a publicity stunt where we filled a traditional red phone box with Slazenger tennis balls to draw attention to the exhibit.

    Outcome

    Altitude offered strategic assistance while creating favourable publicity across local and national media. The story behind the exhibition was distributed nationwide, and national journalist were enticed by the creative publicity manoeuvre.

Barnsley Museums – Brains in a Dish & Tutankhamun Exhibitions Case Study
Developed and delivered a PR strategy and campaign for two intriguing museum exhibitions taking place in Barnsley.

  • The Brief

    Barnsley Museums required the services of a public relations team to launch and encourage interest about both its Tutankhamun and Brains in a Dish exhibitions.

    What We Did

    Our team developed a strategic plan for public relations, encompassing message development, media outreach, and press releases leading up to the exhibitions. We also monitored the media and produced videos to spark interest amongst journalists.

    Outcome

    Our efforts on the Tutankhamun exhibition resulted in extensive press coverage and the exhibition was featured in more than 35 publications. We also arranged significant interviews with prominent media outlets such as the BBC, the Yorkshire Post, and Yorkshire Bylines.

    As for the Brains in a Dish exhibition, we collaborated with notable healthcare, arts, and dementia-related publications, including The Lancet, sharing information about the exhibition in ways that engaged journalists and readers alike.

British Glass Case Study
Providing bespoke media training to senior members of a large UK glass industry body.

  • The Brief

    British Glass enlisted our help in providing media training for its senior team, which included the Chief Executive. As journalists began contacting the CEO for comments on the energy crisis and its impact on intensive energy users in the glass industry, the team required varying media expertise. British Glass aimed to bolster the team's confidence and capabilities, enabling them to provide journalists with more comprehensive media commentary.

    What We Did

    Our team developed a half-day media training program that was grounded in theoretical principles but also provided practical advice and techniques and we facilitated a workshop where the senior managers could share their experiences to help them feel more confident in communicating with the media.

    Outcome

    Thanks to our media training program, British Glass is now delegating media requests and opportunities through its senior team, allowing more people to be able to take on the responsibility with greater confidence and allowing there to be more time for a more considered and informed approach to journalists.

Henry Boot Construction Case Study
Delivering strategic communication solutions to a leading construction services provider.

  • The Brief

    Our brief was to helped Henry Boot Construction to raise their profile in Yorkshire. We worked directly with their communications team to produce content and find opportunities that could shine a light on all the great projects and social work they do. Through this we have produced new stories, interviews, opinion features, award submissions and much more to help them to achieve their PR goals.

    What We Did

    We developed a strategic communications brief that incorporated media management and PR to showcase Henry Boot Construction's exceptional projects and high levels of social value work. Our efforts included producing news stories, conducting interviews, creating opinion features, submitting award entries, generating newsletter content, and monitoring media coverage.

    Outcome

    Altitude created noteworthy coverage for Henry Boot Construction in various local, regional, and industry publications, such as The Star, Yorkshire Post, Insider, Business Desk, Construction Enquirer, and BBC Radio Sheffield.

Increasing B2B visibility on a national level in the fiercely competitive bed industry.

New Era Case Study
Promoted the £90m destination in Sheffield.

  • The Brief

    The £70m New Era Square development in Sheffield aimed to establish itself as a dynamic hub for food, beverage, and leisure activities. The goal was to generate excitement and encourage foot traffic, making it a popular destination amongst locals and visitors.

    What We Did

    Collaborating with the developers of the project, our team created multiple campaigns to establish New Era Square as a standout destination, one of which featured a 1350kg stainless steel panda. The panda has now become an iconic symbol of the development.

    We also played an important role in helping New Era Square secure major property awards in the northern region and we encouraged connections with television, radio, and media outlets. We sustained ongoing media coverage and generated buzz ahead of the development's full opening.

    Outcome

    Despite the challenging post-pandemic climate, New Era Square has achieved a significant milestone of being fully occupied. The development has also seen an increase in foot traffic and sustained media attention and can now proudly state they are multi-award-winning and highly sought-after destination in Sheffield.

See It Be It
Sheffield City Council’s See it Be it in Sheffield campaign exists to match employers with young people in schools to promote skills, learning and ambition.

  • The Brief

    See It Be It in Sheffield wanted specialist communications support to help improve its messaging and profile. Ultimately the campaign wants to engage with more businesses and employees to raise careers awareness and aspiration in schools.

    What We Did

    Altitude held a multi-partner workshop and then devised and delivered a strategy that included refined key messages and new audiences. Together with our design team, we developed creative campaigns to unify both voice and action.

    Outcome

    The result was a solid strategy and a cohesive and inclusive marketing and PR campaign. Our Half Hour Heroes campaign is now being implemented and is telling a story, across many different channels, of a city working together to promote opportunity and drive social mobility.

The Glass Works
Providing bespoke media training to senior members of a large UK glass industry body.

  • The Brief

    Queensberry, the development manager for Barnsley's ambitious £210m town centre regeneration program, sought to maintain the project's prominent media coverage through captivating storytelling and original journalism.

    What We Did

    Our team identified compelling narratives and transformed them into news-worthy content, proactively inviting media outlets to cover the latest developments in the project.

    Outcome

    Thanks to our efforts, a steady stream of television crews, radio journalists, and local/regional publications visited The Glass Works development, reporting on the engaging stories we helped unearth. The resulting media coverage served to maintain The Glass Works' prominent presence in the news cycle, building excitement and anticipation ahead of the development's grand opening in September 2021 and this work continues now too.
